Discovering Singapore's Discovery Centre

singapore discovery center

We prepared ourselves to discover Singapore's past, present and future as we paid a visit to the S'pore Discovery Centre. Part museum, part art gallery, and part science centre, the Singapore Discovery Centre is certainly one of a kind.

It's total floor area is a whopping 4,500 square meters and it consists of 5 main galleries revolving around 8 different themes. As we entered the facility, the atmosphere and ambiance reminded me of our science centre back in high school. The place is practically reeking with science, technology, and information waiting to be discovered.

For $10 each, we got: Centre Admission, Complimentary SAFTI bus tour (we didn't take this one because we didn't have time) and ONE Complimentary Short 3D Film. We immersed ourselves in the vast collection of exhibits presented in various interesting, interactive ways. We also got to check out the iWERKS Theatre, which sports a 5-story high movie screen with a powerful sound system. We didn't finish the 3D film we were watching because we're a little short of time and we wanted to roam around the centre more.

I think all in all, S'pore Discovery Centre is worth visiting. If you're interested in learning Singapore's story and getting up close and personal with its history and culture, then you'll enjoy this place.

This place is great for people who love to be educated and have a natural thirst for knowledge. To fully enjoy the S'pore Discovery Centre, it's best to keep an open mind, and be ready to explore, question, experience – and most importantly – discover Singapore.
